 COSMETOLOGY 

 

Program Educational Objective

 The purpose of the program is to prepare students

 for Employment as a licensed Cosmetologist. Instruction is designed to qualify students for Employment upon obtaining a license by examination from the Department of Professional Regulation in Compliance with the Rules of the Board of Cosmetology.

      This program has continuous Enrollment where new classes begin every week.

  Program description

  This program includes, but is not limited to: Florida Laws and Rules, knowledge of Cosmetology and its related Chemistry, Bacteriology, Anatomy and Physiology.  This program also includes the development of skills in performing the manipulative techniques required in the practice of Cosmetology.

 

  Curriculum

  This program has 1200 hours of Theory, Practice and Clinical Training. 

  All students are required to complete at least 635 services as part of their applied Clinical Training. Upon completion of this program the student will receive a Diploma and will qualify to apply for the Cosmetology State Exam. Students must pass the Cosmetologist State Exam in order to receive a Florida State License.

 

           A full time student will complete this program in 32 weeks.  

          A Part-Time student will complete this program in 50 weeks.

 

           Note: Students cannot serve the public until Licensed by the Florida Board of Cosmetology.

 

 

 

 

RESTRICTED BARBER

 Program Educational Objective:

The purpose of this program is to prepare the student as a Licensed Restricted Barber. Instruction is designed to qualify students for Employment upon obtaining a license upon examination from the Department of Professional Regulation in compliance with the rules of the Barber's Board.

 

This program has continuous Enrollment where new classes begin every week.

                                                           

  Program Description

  This program includes, but is not limited to

Florida Laws and Rules, knowledge of Barbering and its related Chemistry, Bacteriology, Anatomy and development of skills in performing the manipulative techniques required in the practice of Barbering.

 

  Curriculum

  This program has 1200 hours of Theory, Practice and Clinical training.

  All students are required to complete at least 545 services as part of their applied Clinical Training. Upon completion of this program the student will receive a Diploma and will qualify to apply for the Restricted Barber State Exam.  Students must pass the Restricted Barber State Exam in order to receive a Florida State Licensed.

 

  A full time student will complete this program in 32 weeks.  

  A Part-Time student will complete this program in 50 weeks.

 

         Note: Students cannot serve the public until Licensed by the Florida Barbers' Board.

 

Program Educational Objective

The purpose of this program is to prepare the student for Employment as a Licensed Nail Tech Specialist. Instruction is designed to qualify students for Employment upon obtaining a License by Registration from the Florida State Board of Cosmetology.

 

This program has continuous Enrollment where new classes begin every week.

Manicure

 

NAIL TECH SPECIALIST 

 

  Program Description

  The students will learn to

Identify career opportunities

Employ safe, sanitary and efficient work practices

Demonstrate knowledge of professional development – employability skills

Demonstrate knowledge of Florida Law State Board requirements; and

Describe and perform Manicure, Pedicure and Nail Extensions

 

  Curriculum

  This course has 240 hours of Theory, Practice and Clinical Training.

  All students are required to complete at least 95 services as part of their applied Clinical Training.

  Upon completion of this program the student will receive a Diploma and will qualify to apply for a Nail Tech Specialist Licensed in the State of Florida.

  A full time student will complete this program in 7 weeks.  

  A Part-Time student will complete this program in 10 weeks.

 

Note: The minimum age requirement for Nail Tech and Skin Care Specialist is 16 years of age.

SKIN CARE SPECIALIS​T

 

Program Educational Objectives

The purpose of this program is to prepare the student for Employment as a Licensed Skin Care Specialist. Instruction is designed to qualify students for Employment, upon obtaining a License by Registration from the Florida State Board of Cosmetology.

This program has continuous Enrollment where new classes begin every week.

                                                                                                        

  Program Description

  The students will learn to

Identify career opportunities

Employ safe and proper laboratory practices

Demonstrate knowledge of professional development – management skills; Demonstrate knowledge of Florida Law State Board requirement; and Identify and perform Facials, Manipulation, Make-up, Hair removal and artificial Lash application.


 

  Curriculum

  This course has 260 hours of Theory, Practice and Clinical Training.

  All students are required to complete at least 100 services as part of their applied Clinical Training. Upon completion of this program the student will receive a Diploma and will qualify to apply for a

  Skin Care Specialist License in the State of Florida.

  A full time student will complete this program in 7 weeks.  

  A Part-Time student will complete this program in 11 weeks.

 

Note:  The minimum age requirement for Nail Tech and Skin Care Specialist is 16 years of age.
